At Brooks Forgings Ltd, we can supply and manufacture structural tie rods in many specifications and finishes. We understand that sometimes a standard item is not suitable for a particular application. Using in house facilities, we can manufacture specials to suit customer requirements. Our Tension System range is made up of the following components:

Fork Ends
Used on bar ends to ensure transfer load to the structure. Available in various sizes. Threaded ‘left hand’ or ‘right hand’ depending on tie rod arrangement. Tapped with blind hole.

Spade Ends
Designed to fit within the Fork End. Can also be used instead of a fork end application but shear loads on the pin must be taken into consideration.

Pins
Supplied as a pin barrel complete with end caps. We use countersunk socket set screws for a flush finish.

Turnbuckles
Threaded ‘left hand’ and ‘right hand’. Used to allow fine adjustments within the application. Turnbuckles give a greater length adjustment that can’t be achieved using standard ‘Fork to Fork’ combinations.

Lockcovers
Used to taper the fork/spade fitting to the diameter of the bar. These are a popular choice for Architectural applications to hide exposed threads, giving a more aesthetically pleasing look.

Centre Discs
Used to connect multiple Tie Rods to a central point. Usually unique to different applications. Made to suit customers requirements.
