An important department of Brooks Forgings manufacturing facility is its hand-forging division. Using skills handed down through generations, our master craftsmen are able to manufacture and replicate metal products to samples and drawings provided by customers.

We believe passionately about preserving these hand-forging skills, and find that there are customers who require products hand forged using traditional methods.

Why use the hand forging process?

Hand forging is not just a process used to make products from the past. Many low volume bespoke products are more cost-effectively made by hand forging, due to the low setup costs.

Another benefit is the superior grain flow and refining of the steel internal structure which comes from bending and working whilst hot. This means that hand-forged products are both stronger, more durable, and longer-lasting than fabricated, cast, or machined components.
